Meet the Robinsons-Raven
Meet the Robinsons is a cute Disney animated movie that tells the story of a young boy, Lewis, who invents and uses the motto, “Keep Moving Forward.” Lewis was abandoned as an infant, and left at the local orphanage by his mother. He grew up well, but was not adopted until just the right couple came along after a long journey through time. He had had 124 interviews before his adoption. At the orphanage, he bunks with Mike Yagoobian, or Goob for short. Goob longs to be a star champion little league baseball player, even though he does say he just loves baseball, and does not care about winning at all. Goob has not had many interviews, making him harden into a meaner person in the future, which he blames directly on Lewis. Lewis keeps Goob up till the crack of dawn every night, working on new inventions. Goob misses out on sleep, and obviously needs time to catch up on it, which he does in the baseball championship game. Lewis was determined to win the school science fair, and to impress the interviewers, who were the science teacher, Bud, the gym teacher, and a lady named Lucille.
A tagline for the movie is, “If you think you’re family’s different, wait till you meet the family of the future.” The family of the future in this flick is the Robinsons. They are all a bit nutty, making them the perfect family for Lewis. Lewis meets the futuristic time after his encounter with Wilbur Robinson. According Lewis, Wilbur is “Captain Timetravel.” Once in the future, Lewis meets new people, who remind him of people of his own time. The only person he does not meet is Wilbur’s dad, Cornelius. Through rough times and good times in the future, Lewis finds out his true destiny, and what will become of him. Just watch and see for yourself!

36 Crazyfists
Ok, so this last trip to Anchorage was probably the funnest. Why? Well there are lots of reasons, but mainly because I got to go to a 36 Crazyfists concert. I didn’t go trick-or-treating this year but I didn’t mind. I’m sure you wouldn’t mind either if you got to stand front row at a 36 Crazyfists concert too.
I was going to go with my mom, and my best buddy, Mariya. Too bad, my mom wasn’t in Anchorage yet and Mariya couldn’t go because her mom wanted her to go to church and pass out candy. So I was left with two extra tickets on the night of the concert. I wound up giving the tickets to my cousin Robert (not Christian’s brother), and his incredibly short friend. I was pretty much alone most of the time.
Before the actual concert began, they had some sucky opening acts. I forgot the name of the first act, but all I know is that they sucked, big time. The second acts name was Delmag and I’m not going to deny it, they were pretty good. I highly recommend, but it’s not a full on screamo band. The third act was an O.K. band with the name of Kallahan. They were more of a screaming, you-cant-understand-what-im-saying, and i-have-so-much-range band, like a watered down Slipknot.
After the opening acts, it was a while before 36 went on. I stayed where I was considering I had a good spot. 36 Crazyfists finally came on wearing telletubby costumes. The first song they played was “The All Night Light.” During that moshpits had already started.
I can sort of remember the set list, they played “The Heart and the Shape”, then Blood work”, after that “Waterhaul”, which the crowd surfing was started by Brock Lindow. After that a bunch of people started crowd surfing and I was one of them! I crowd surfed for I’d say about two minutes so I wasn’t paying attention to the song they were playing.
One of the highlights of the concert was the moshpits. I was in the middle of it for a while, but decided to just go up to the front and watch them play. What was crazy was that Brock Lindow (the lead singer) had the crowd split into two groups and when he said, they ran and attacked each other.
Out of the concerts I’ve been to this was by far the best. I was about five feet away from the band, I crowd surfed, I witnessed a guy in a Nacho Libre costume flash the crowd, which was disgusting. I had t o stand next to an annoying nerd half the time, I saw an old grandma almost get beat up by a drunk guy, I went half-deaf for three days, I had fun.

Being a grouch…
I probably seem like a happy person most of the time, but then again, I don’t really know, I’m in my body, not outside of it, so I don’t notice. Am I usually in a good mood? I surely don’t know, and it dosent bother me. In school I know that I try to be in a good mood, but that is usually ruined when I walk in the door, or get in my care to come to school, Just that can ruin my whole day. A ruined day for me is a day wasted. There is nothing I can do about my mood but get over it with time, and that usually takes going to sleep and waking up the next day in a better mood because I’v forgotten about it all by then. Being angry at one person usually makes me mad at everyone, anything upsets me. There are people that just set my mood off all the time; some of them don’t even have to try, or know what they did to get me mad, there are a few of those people; one of those people is someone who is very close to me, and probably shouldn’t have to go through the terrors of my craziness. Cameron, my sister, lives with me, and strongly believes that I am bipolar. She’s almost scared actually; we fight over the simplest things, which is normal for sisters, right? But most of the time, it ends with me screaming at her on the top of my lungs, being extremely mad and just being witchy to everyone around, then laughing for no reason. I laugh when I am mad. I laugh when I am happy. I just like to laugh.
In my house, I don’t like to cause any ruckus. I leave that to my siblings; they can get in trouble for being loud, messy, or annoying. But I do not leave being the grouch of the house to them; that’s a place I don’t try for, but get. My high volume at home is probably inherited; along with my dagger shooting eyes, and big toes. I almost feel bad that my family has to put up with me; they have to listen to my tantrums at home all day long sometimes, starting at 7 am, and ending whenever I finally decide that I am okay. They usually just tell me to shut up, just like some other people may do too. That doesn’t always work; usually just tell me to shut up, I’m like a kettle ready to whistle as soon as someone turns up the heat. On most every occurrence of this, the heat is turned down or left alone, and I just feel miserable. On the occasion though, they listen, my parents almost always listen for a short while, and others do sometimes. Hollering is my way of communicating at home; I holler at my siblings non-stop, and seem to talk back, get in the last word, or just leave the situation.

One day there was this hot tan muscular man. His name was Haden Smith. He came from outer space; he fell out of the sky. After the crash all the animals rushed out to see what had happened. Haden Walked over to the animals and said, “ Don’t be alarmed I’m here to help Earth.” After that a baby blue bird wiggled its way over to Haden and started to chip very happily, then Haden said, “ I will be here seven days to make Earth.” After that the animals helped Haden with food, and shelter. Haden ate and watched the sun set.
Two days after Haden had fallen out of the sky, they saw another shooting star; this time it was a girl who had fallen from the sky. Then all the animals rushed to go see what had happened again. The girl walked out of the star and said, “Hi my name is Sonny.” Then Haden walked over to the girl and said, “Welcome” then he asked, “What is your purpose here?” Sonny said, “ I’m here to kill you, to make Earth, by killing you it will make Earth.” Haden asked, “Why?” Sonny answered, “Your hair will be the grass, your eyes will be the sun, and your blood will be your water.”
The Becoming

Animals, animals fighting in the sky, on the Earth, even in the sea. Animals, animals fighting, birds in the sky. In the ocean fighting, ripping and tearing at each other. Animals, animals tear each other apart. Limb from limb, and bone from skin. Why are you fighting, why? Animals, animals’ senseless violence. So why are you fighting. Who are you fighting for, why are you fighting, why. Animals, animals, ant and the mole, even the shark and the little carp. Animals, animals for what reason could you have for acting the way you’ve been. Heeling and killing why. Animals, animals using brain not bronze, using stragity and not just muscle. Far off in the distant a sound loud and a flash in the sky and animals living in harmony once again.

Christmas, the holiday celebrating the birth of Christ; to some people, it is nothing but a normal day, but to others it is a day of joy. The exchange of gifts and carols, happy people who sing the sweet hum that travels through the satin snow. The snowmen you see on the streets. Several books, and movies, have been built around the belief of Santa Clause. Classic Christmas movies, such as, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, The Polar Express, Home Alone, etc, but it isn’t just for the presents for some. For some, it’s the ambience and joy. It’s that every family is together. It’s more tangible, materialistic things. It’s just Christmas, the snowmen, the Santa Clause, it’s the Christmas tree. The Egg Nog, the tinsel strung across the light branches. The sweet smell of pine and cider that lingers in the warm cozy home twisting, and dancing in your nostrils. Nutmeg and pumpkin pie, carolers knocking on the door singing beautiful songs. Christmas lights weaved in and out of the branches of the tree. Elegant ornaments hung with precisian and care. Getting in you pajamas and watching Christmas movies. The decorations, the lights, the smells. That’s what I look forward to at Christmas time. Not the toys. And it’s the anticipation and exhilaration that captivate, and enthrall me. It’s the magic that is Christmas that makes it special for me.
The Daughter of Father Moon and Mother Sun: A Legend on How The Earth was Created- By Cameron
The Earth was created by a lady Father Moon once dated; her name was Mother Sun. Although those two had much fun, Father Moon didn’t think she was the right one for him. He thought this because he was falling for a girl named Star Kim. Mother Sun became very upset, but before they broke up they had a daughter. They didn’t know what to call her, but since they broke up it was up to Mother Sun. Mother Sun was now upset that her daughter has see her father too, so her and Father Moon agreed to let Mother Sun see her in the day time, and Father Sun see her at night. All the tears Mother Sun had cried became the rivers to the daughter and all the rocks thrown at Father Moon became the mountains on her also. But, all the happiness Father Moon was having with Star Kim became the colors and happy things on the daughter. Finally, Mother Sun thought of something, and named her Earth. From now on, Mother Sun and Father Moon see Earth at their own times, and they all live to this day.

Battle of the Seal, Whale, Fish and Eagle- By Dustin
There once was a palace of seals and the other palace of whales. The king of the whales and the king of the seals had a war. Of course the whales won. Blood of the seals became the ocean and the eyes became the moon and stars and the tongue was the sun. As you can see this is the creation of the universe and ocean. Now the battle of Eagle and Fish: The eagle swooped up and grabbed a fish; 3 males, and 3 females. The females’ eggs became the fruit and males humps became the hills, and the blood was the rivers and streams, and the eyes were the people. Milt became the animals. An old fish said to be glad for being part of the Earth.

The Legend of the Three Sisters…- By Mica
The earth all started as a bare planet. There was a man on one side of the earth, and a woman on the other.
The woman was the sister of two witches that lived in the sky. Since this woman was not like her sisters, the other two women sent her down to bare unfamiliar Earth. Now, one day, the sisters started fighting over a man they saw on wandering the lands. So, the oldest sister named Destiny created this small planet that lit up in the dark, and threw it up to space so he could see it. This planet was called the moon. The man was pleased to see to see light at night, but, he was still not happy. He asked the other sister named Gloria to make a bright light in the morning. So she did. But he was still not pleased. The sisters got very frustrated so they just made the Earth flourish with mountains, plains, rivers, the sea, plants, animals, everything. But yet was not pleased, he wanted a woman, a woman that loved him. So, while the sisters were arguing he went for a hike to find a woman he had heard about. He walked for days crossing lands, and yet did not notice how wonderful the land was. Finally, he found the woman he was looking for. She was the sister of the witches. Her name was Saphire. They had 4 children named: Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring.

Blair’s Hope
It was a dark, snowy night in 1946, when the police came to her house and told her sitter her that her parents had died. Blair, who was very bright and very mature for a six-year-old, understood right away what had happened as she listened to their conversation from the living room. Even though she was just a little girl, her world still fell around her feet in a million pieces. She was an orphan.
It has now been a year since the tragic accident, and Blair has been through more then a girl should ever know. Since she has no other family and no one to take her in, she was put in an orphanage. In the beginning, she was moved from place to place a lot. Blair was finally taken to Stonybrook House, which was the nicest orphanage in London.
Blair was happy that she was finally in one place and hoped to stay there until she was adopted. Every day, they fed the children good food, took them to play down the street, and made sure the fire was always burning to keep the house warm. Blair felt safe living here, but her life was very lonely. Many of the children were too young to talk, or a few years older then Blair and stayed around their age peers. Blair had no one to play with, no family to come and visit, and no one to love her. She felt hopeless and scared, wondering if anyone would ever want her again.
One day, while Blair was making her bed, one of the housekeepers came to get her. A very wealthy family had come to adopt a little girl about her age, and they wanted to see her. Blair’s heart soared at the idea that maybe today was her day. She went and brushed her hair, put on her best dress, and went down stairs to see what this couple was like.
When she got down the stairs, she saw them sitting side-by-side on the sofa. They were very wealthy-looking people, and just by looking at them, you could tell they owned one of the biggest homes in England. The woman, who looked very smug in her fur coat, fancy shoes, and too much makeup, stared at Blair, then turned to the housekeeper and asked if that was all she had. Blair was crushed! Is that all she has? ‘What is wrong with me?’ Blair thought. She was devastated that someone would treat her with so much carelessness – she was only a child! Fighting back the tears, Blair stood there and listened to the housekeeper explain the situation, then watched as the churlish couple stormed out of the orphanage.
Later that evening, Blair sat on her bed alone, and wondered if anyone would ever come for her. What was wrong with her? Was she not pretty enough? Was she not smart enough? Would she ever be happy again? After everyone ate dinner that night, Blair climbed into bed, and cried herself to sleep. It had been a long day for a little, lonely girl.
The next thing she knew, someone was waking her up. As she sat up, she squinted at the clock on the wall and saw that it wasn’t even two in the morning. She looked around. She didn’t see the housekeeper anywhere, and all of the other children were all asleep. Who had woken her up? Then a noise by the window scared her, and she looked over to see a tiny, bright light reflecting off the glass. Blair got up and walked slowly towards it to see where it was coming from. As she got closer, Blair couldn’t believe her eyes. There was a fairy on the window sill, looking up at her with amazement.
At first, Blair thought she was dreaming, or maybe seeing things. But then she reached down to pick up the little fairy, and the fairy skipped right up into Blair’s hand. Feeling her walk around on her palm showed Blair just how real she was.
“Hi,” said the fairy, still looking in amazement at Blair.
“Hello,” Blair replied, shy and timidly, and just as amazed herself.
“My name is Tipsy, and my friends and I have come to help you. You see, we have been watching you for awhile now, seeing how you live in this orphanage, how you act around the other children, and how people have put you down, like that nasty couple did earlier today. So, we have come to help you,” Tipsy finished with a smile.
“It is very kind of you to come, but what do you mean help me?”
“Oh,” Tipsy said, with the radiant smile still beaming off her face, “I’m so glad you asked.”
The next thing that Blair knew, she was wisked out through the window, and up high in the sky. At first, she wanted to scream, as she soared over the tops of buildings and the dimly lit cobblestone streets. But then, as she looked around her, she was surrounded by tiny white lights, which were, of course, fairies. They all did their part in holding her up and letting her fly around with them. She had never felt so free in her life. She was out of the orphanage and away from her past that dragged her down every day. She was a child again and she could have fun with these little friends of hers.
Every night following that evening, Blair would wait by the window after everyone had gone to bed, and would watch for Tipsy and her friends to come and take her on another adventure. They went swimming, ran all over every park in the city in the middle of the night, or sometimes, they would just sit on a rooftop and gaze at the stars above them. No matter what they did together, Blair was happy and content to have her fairy friends, who brightened her entire life.
One clear, calm night, Blair and Tipsy were sitting by the edge of a lake that reflected the moonlight perfectly. With the crickets chirping and lighting bugs floating around with their tiny glow, Blair began to tell Tipsy what she wanted more then anything in the world.
“Tipsy,” Blair began, “I am really happy that I have you for my friend. I have someone to play with now, because you came to help me.”
“So am I,” Tipsy agreed.
“But you know what?” Blair asked. “I would just really like to have a family again, with a mom and a dad, and maybe even a little brother or sister.” Blair continued telling Tipsy her dreams as she lay down on the cool, soft grass. “I think my life would be perfect if I could have a family again.” Blair closed her eyes as she stared to doze off into a peaceful sleep. “I just want to be happy again, Tipsy,” she said with a yawn.
“I know, Blair, I know,” Tipsy said to her as Blair fell asleep in the warm night air. “I’ll see what I can do.”
The very next day, Blair awoke to the housekeeper calling her name. (Blair never did find out how she woke up in her bed every morning when she always fell asleep with Tipsy somewhere.) As the housekeeper walked into the room, Blair sat up as she exclaimed that someone was here that might want to adopt her. At first, Blair had a glimmer of hope, but then she remembered how many times before she had heard those words, and her heart sank a little. But, one always had to hope for the best, so she got up, put on her best face, and went downstairs.
That night, Blair would have to say goodbye to her fairy friends. She was going to be adopted tomorrow! Blair had never been so happy in her life. The young couple, who were very kind and caring, were coming tomorrow to sign the papers and take Blair home with them. Blair was sad that she could no longer be with her friends, but she was happy that a new life and family had become hers. What Blair never found out, however, was that Tipsy came to see her ever night, but to Blair, it was just like a dream, a wonderful dream, where she woke up to her loving parents the next morning.

Legend
When dinosaurs were still around, there was a creature named Bill. Bill looked just like a human, but he didn’t speak any human known languages. He barked, mooed, meowed, and roared at the dinosaurs. One day he was walking around and spotted a stracosaurus. The stracosaurus was going south for the winter. Bill had never gone south before. Bill and Stracosaurus both agreed it would be better if Bill went with him, so Bill did.
The next day they started their four-day walking journey. Bill rode on the Stracosaurus. When they approached the forest an enormous, loud snowstorm began. They both decided that it would be faster if they cut through the forest instead of going around. The forest trees were tiny and skinny and first they started getting taller and wider. Before they knew it they were twice as tall as the stracosaurus. Some of the trees they passed had branches that stuck out at least six feet. Bill noticed one branch in front of him that would smack him in the face if he didn’t duck, so when they got to it Bill ducked. He put his head back up then looked back, when he looked forward he knew he was going to get it. Before he knew it “Bam” right in the face. Bill got knocked off the stracosaurus and down to the ground and banged his head and feet on rocks, trees, and branches.
It was too noisy for the stracosaurus to hear Bill yell, so he kept going. It was freezing out and Bill was covered in snow. Bill was suffering from the first steps of hypothermia. Bill was tired, so he decided to lie down. He slept for many days, months, and even years.
When Bill woke up, everything was destroyed. No one and nothing was around! He had slept through the asteroid that killed all the dinosaurs. Bill didn’t know what had happened. When he noticed what he looked like he was even more confused, he was speechless. Bill was a hairy, Big-footed, giant! He remembered before he fell asleep, he fell off of the stracosaurus and was hurt.
Bill knew he was going to die if he didn’t look for food. He walked for a mile and took a little rest. Just before he began his search again, it started raining, and it rained for days. Finally it stopped, and Bill was very happy. He got even happier when he found a bean. It wasn’t just any bean; it was a big brown bean. Bill was just about to eat it when he noticed something colorful in the sky. It was a rainbow, bill didn’
t know that though, Bill dropped the bean by accident and chased the rainbow. When Bill finally got to the rainbow, there was something on the other side. He climbed over the rainbow to the other side and noticed it was a pot of fruit. Just as Bill got to the bottom, it started raining again.
Bill was full so he decided to take a nap in the rain. When Bill woke up, there was this enormous vine going up to the sky. He was an explorer and wanted to find out what it was for, so Bill climbed it. It was very tall so it took him all day. When Bill got to the end of it there was white fluffy clouds covering the whole surface. It was hard for Bill to walk on, so he crawled. While up on the clouds he found another basket of fruit and he ate the whole thing.
Just as he finished eating another creature like him appeared. The only thing different was that the thing he was much better looking. The other creature told him his name was God. Got told Bill he was in deep trouble. Bill asked why, and God explained. God told him it was because he ate all the fruit out of the pot at the end of the rainbow, so from now on rainbows are going to run away from us. Then God told him his punishment was that he was going to be around for a long, long time. God really did mean it. That is why rainbows run away from us and Bigfoot is still around.

Red Tides
By: PJ Hamilton
There is a village from Northern Alaska and the people there like seafood and wildlife. They love hunting and fishing for their food.
They were hunting and fishing everyday, and they were wasting food so other villages didn’t have enough to eat. So God got angry and told them something would happen to them if they didn’t stop wasting food.
If they caught enough food for what they needed to survive and he will not do anything but if they don’t listen he will do something bad to them. The people in the village didn’t believe something bad the them. The people in the village didn’t believe something had to them. The people in the village didn’t believe God. So they were still hunting and fishing and wasting food.
So God said that was it and he created the red tide. God put a drop of his blood in the water. The red tide poisons shellfish and that was the village’s favorite food.
When the village went fishing in the red tide, they caught shellfish and they ate them and died slowly. They were punished for wasting food for the other villages so that’
s the was God did that.
The moral of the story is to hunt and fish for food, not just to hunt and fish to waste. Because if you just hunt and fish, there will not be enough for anybody who is trying to hunt and fish for their families for food.
Crimson and Clover
Once upon a time, there was a princess named clover. Her son’s name was crimson. She had hair of gold, and so did he, like his mother. Clover had Betty Davis eyes and Greta Garbo’s standard size. Tragedy was headed their way, as they were told by the pyschic in the kingdom. She knew everything. Her name was Blondie. To know anything, they would just call her.
Boom! Tragedy struck, and Clover was ill. She had and unknown sickness, making her unsavable. The funeral was grand, and Crimson took over. He married Blondie. They had many kids, all named either Crimson, or Clover. The names were used over and over.
“Hurricane is headed our way, in about…”
were the last words, last of many true visions that Blondie had. The hurricane hit. It was a moving murderer, claiming all. But in their afterlife, everyone lived happily ever after!

On September 12, 2008, the fifth and sixth grade class had to study for dissecting salmon. Before we started dissecting, we had to talk about what to do when you are cutting a fish, and how far to put the knife in so you don’t cut the internal organs (heart, liver, intestines,) because you want to see the inside of the fish before you throw it away.
When we got in the Home Ec. Room, we had to take our fish out of the fridge, and get a knife so we could cut from the anus up to the gills. I got really scared when Mary was cutting the fish because the knife kept slipping from out of the fish and almost cut my hand. Next we had to open it to look at the insides. The heart of Kailee Rae’s fish was still beating and the way you tell is by tickling the heart. The hardest part was trying to find the eye lense. The eye lense is clear and sometimes smaller than a pea.
The most important thing that we needed was paper towels because at the ending of dissecting the salmon, there was a HUGE mess. There was blood and guts all over the floor and counters. We needed about thirty pieces of paper towel just to clean up the mess and about ten to put the organs on. What I didn’
t like was the cleaning. After that we had to dump the internal organs in the trash can.
